This Burden
This Burden

I roam this world I call home for you,
Searching through this chaos for a love unparalleled,
Knowing I am getting closer to an end,
Putting all bets aside,
Calling for you to come back to me,
Writhing in my soul for you to reclaim what is yours,
And to know without a doubt who is and ever shall be yours,
All I ever wanted was to love you,
Just for you to let me love you,

Knowing for a fact we are at an end,
Knowing for a fact my body will never know such pleasure,
As the scent of your body on my pillow and waking up in your arms,
Dying for you to remind me just how good we are together,
No one has ever held this heat so calmly in her frigid blue eyes,
For no one is as proud as I,
To have known the taste of your lips,
And the feel of your hands,
Or to be cast aside in waiting for you,
I hold this burden with dignity.
